Date:  Saturday, 9 December to 10 December 2023

Where:  MAZ (Mangawhai Activity Zone, 191 Molesworth Drive, Mangawhai Heads, Mangawhai)

Time:  First game at 9AM, teams should arrive no later than 15 minutes before game.

Cost:  $60 per team paid by 2 December, 2023

Juniors - Saturday, 9 December 2023

  • Girls & Boys U12s (Born 2012/2013) - Max of five (5) teams each gender
  • Boys U14s (Born 2010/2011) - Max of seven (7) teams
  • Girls & Boys U16s (Born 2008/2009) - Max of seven (7) teams each gender

Seniors - Sunday, 10 December 2023

  • Open Men's (Born 2007 and older)
  • Open Women's (Born 2007 and older)

Game rules (per official FIBA 3x3 basketball rules)

  • Team Roster - 4 players (3 + 1 substitute)
  • Official(s) - Up to 2
  • Table Officials - Up to 3 (scorer, scoreboard operator, shot-clock operator)
  • Time-outs - One 20 sec timeout per team
  • Initial possession - Coin flip (note:  the team that wins the coin flip decides whether it takes the ball at the beginning of the game or leaves it, in order to get it in a potential overtime)
  • Scoring - 1 point and 2 points, if scored behind the arc
  • Game duration - 10 minutes running clock
  • Overtime - First team to score two (2) points wins the game
  • Shot clock - 12 seconds
  • Possession following a successful goal - Defense possession; right underneath the hoop; ball to be dribbled or passed to a player behind the arc; defensive team not allowed to play for the ball inside the 'no-charge semi-circle' area underneath the basket.
  • Substitutions - The substitute can enter the game after his teammate steps off the court behind the end line opposite the basket.  Substitutions require no action from the referees or table officials.
